Smart Ring Sizing Guide: How to Get the Right Fit

Use the sizing kit for the model you plan to buy. This guide compares Oura Ring 4 and Ultrahuman Ring AIR instructions. Follow the matching manufacturer guide for another model or generation.

Before you order

Check the model name on the kit. A familiar jewelry size or another brand’s smart-ring size is not a substitute for testing the correct sizer. Both manufacturers describe differences between their plastic sizers and the finished metal rings.

Compare the trial periods

The trial periods differ. Oura asks for a full day that includes sleep. Ultrahuman asks you to test across two days and at least two nights. The written steps below expand on the diagram.

Oura Ring 4

Use the kit labeled for Oura Ring 4, which covers whole sizes 4–15. The same size number from another Oura generation is not a reliable shortcut.

Oura recommends the index finger; the middle and ring fingers are also options. Try different fingers and both hands. The sizer should feel secure at the finger’s base without being tight. A large difference between knuckle and finger-base size can complicate the fit.

Oura’s check includes making a fist. If there is a gap above the finger, try a smaller size. Wear the chosen sizer for at least 24 hours, including sleep. Its sizing guide recommends the smaller option between sizes; the fit must still be comfortable.

Ultrahuman Ring AIR

Use the AIR sizing kit rather than a regular ring measurement. Its plastic sample rings cover sizes 5–14.

Ultrahuman suggests trying the index, middle and ring fingers on either hand. Its fit checks put the sensor ridge toward the palm, with the sizer snug at the base. When you gently turn it, your skin should move with it.

Test the fit during your usual daily routine across two days and at least two nights. If you are between sizes, trial both for at least two nights. Ultrahuman recommends the tighter option only when both are reasonably comfortable; a size that fits more than one finger offers another option. Ask its support team if you remain unsure.

If the fit is still uncertain

Use the model-specific fit checks through the full trial. If the fit remains uncomfortable or uncertain, ask the manufacturer before ordering.
